Manager Public Relations
PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division is seeking an enthusiastic public relations professional to join its communications team. This highly visible position will be responsible for planning, managing and executing against corporate reputation efforts for Frito-Lay North America. This role requires a high level of strategic thinking, independent decision making and ability to motivate and inspire others. The ideal candidate must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. He/she must possess a deep understanding of today's earned media environment; excellent writing skills; a strategic and creative mindset; and a demonstrated ability to pitch and place stories through earned media across a variety of outlets and verticals.
Key Accountabilities:
Support strategic PR planning, project management and agency oversight for various corporate reputation initiatives
Build and strengthen relationships with key members of the media
Proactively pitch Frito-Lay corporate stories that support key business priorities, while having foresight of potential risks
Develop press materials and messaging to effectively tell the Frito-Lay corporate story
Support crisis and issues communications, as needed
Stay informed of key issues and trends impacting the company and industry
Effectively manage and motivate junior team members
Regularly liaise and collaborate with Frito-Lay and PepsiCo communications team members
Requisites:
5
years of previous experience in a similar role
Deep understanding of earned media landscape and how to work with reporters
Strong relationships with reporters covering a variety of topics (e.g., business, technology, sustainability, health/nutrition)
Proven results in pitching and securing earned media coverage on a wide variety of topics (e.g., business, technology, sustainability, health/nutrition)
Professional demeanor with the ability to represent the company among a variety of stakeholders
Subject matter expertise in health/nutrition, sustainability, technology a plus
Excellent writing skills, including presentations, executive speeches, press materials and messaging, with the ability to develop materials under extremely tight timelines
Demonstrated problem solving skills
Strong judgment and ability to think strategically and creatively
Demonstrated results with program development and project management from beginning to end
Team player who works well among a diverse team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Accurate and detail-oriented
Sound judgment and independent decision making
Strong understanding of PepsiCo/Frito-Lay and the broader consumer packaged goods industry
