Business Analyst III
The Business AnalystIII position will play a critical role in identifying issues and opportunities,designing and conducting analysis and recommending solutions for implementingsystem and operational change. This position will support the IT Department oninitiatives that will enable the company to enter new markets, conduct businessin existing markets in a fundamentally new way and improve/enhance existingbusiness processes and systems. TheBusiness Analyst III is responsible for acting as a liaison between businesscustomers and technical teams on enterprise wide projects and implementations. They will consult with the business tounderstand its goals and objectives and translate those objectives intotechnical and functional requirements. They may be called to assist in carrying out the primary actions ofProject Management or Product Assurance activities.
KEY
Responsibilities:
Reviews, analyzes, andevaluates business systems and user needs and recommend improvements
Research, define anddocument current As is business processes and recommend improvements
Elicit requirements usinginterviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits,business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, andworkflow analysis.
Create and maintain updateddocumentation on business processes, applications and business solutionsincluding process flows, use cases, functional specifications, test cases,training and system manuals, and job aids.
Serve as the conduit forthe flow of requirements between the customer community (both internal andexternal) and the technology and support teams.
Assist in identifying theroot cause of system and operational issues, analyze data, and recommendsolutions.
Strict adherence to RAC'sIT SDLC processes and standards.
Preparing new proposals insupport of business and IT initiatives including benefits, costs and basicfinancial analysis (ROI, IRR).
Creation of structuredproject plans and ability to lead execution of the plan for small to mediumprojects.
Lead and/or assist qualityassurance activities for small to medium projects.
Research and assist inresolution of production support issues.
Expert knowledge of relatedsystem applications and business processes across multiple domains
Mentor junior BSA teammembers.
Participate, contribute to,and help lead the Business Analysis Center of Excellence as we work to improvethe efficiency and effectiveness of the BA role here at RAC.
Bachelor's degree orequivalent preferred
Greater than 5 yearsrelated BA experience and/or training required
A diverse technicalbackground sufficient to understand the technologies and technical issuesinvolved with the project and industry.
Experience using Lawson,Oracle Retail, Siebel, etc a plus
A strong business acumenwith advanced knowledge of Retail principles
Very competent with a widerange of documentation skills with experience creating Use Cases, BRD's,Functional Specifications, System Requirements, Process and Data Flows, UserStories, and Requirements Traceability matrices.
Experienced and skilleduser of office productivity tools such as Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,SharePoint, and Project Server.
Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with adiverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts using strongpresentation skills.
Ability to read, analyze,and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technicalprocedures, or governmental regulations.
Should possess anunderstanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate theminto complete and concise application, and operational requirements.
Expert analytical abilityand problem solving skills.
Ability to identify rootcauses to business problems and guide the business to innovative solutions.
Able to multi-task withgreat time management and prioritization skills.
Advanced understanding ofall phases of the software development life cycles.
Strong knowledge of ProjectManagement and Product Assurance principles and practices preferred.
Experience in Agile andScrum preferred.
Must be self-motivated,independent, and resourceful.
