Information Technology Specialist

As an Information Technology (IT) Specialist providing technical and advisory assistance in support of the information technology needs of the assistance in support of the information technology needs of the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). Performs a variety of tasks associated with the day-to-day operation and administration of IT and related systems within the Office of the United States Attorney. Typical work assignments will include:
Maintaining network connectivity; architecture and infrastructure. Implementing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability. Monitoring functionality, security, and integrity of internet services. Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, resolving and maintaining customer hardware and software and interoperability problems. Diagnose and resolve problems in response to customer reported incidents. Provides user support including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, user assistance, and training in response to user requirements. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. GS-09:
To be eligible at the GS-09 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in Federal service. Specialized Experience for this grade is defined as providing information technology customer support service to include the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems and networked systems, and the maintenance of the internet server and web sites. OR EDUCATION:
A Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks; (transcripts required) OR COMBINATION:
A combination of specialized experience as described above and graduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of 1 full year is creditable.) (Transcripts required) GS-11:
To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
At least ONE full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal service. Providing information technology customer support services to include the installation, configuration and troubleshooting of hardware and software systems and networked systems; providing user training on a variety of routine applications; providing quality assurance and analysis of information security systems to ensure compliance with information security policies and regulations; and managing the design and legal compliance with web sites. OR EDUCATION:
A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks; (transcripts required) OR COMBINATION:
A combination of specialized experience as described above and graduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of 2 full years is creditable.) (transcripts required) Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
