Responsibilities We are looking for a Lead Systems Engineer with extensive knowledge and experience with Windows Server and VMware ESX and related products. Linux and other open system are a plus. This person will play a key role in the implementation of processes, procedures, policies and standards for all hybrid cloud. The candidate should possess knowledge of VMware virtualization products, Windows Server and Linux OS related products. You will be responsible for assessing server hardware and software requirements related to various application vendor requirements and driving automation for highly repeatable tasks as well as troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues related to performance and functionality. Creating best practice documentation around all of our server related products that will help us standardize and deliver quality services every time. Interaction with management providing recommendations for new technologies, improved service availability and management. Provide advanced support and implement break-fix solutions to technical issues within the EIT Infrastructure environments. Duties and Responsibilities Lead VMware Infrastructure engineer, overseeing current environment and future build out from group up. Ensures that system implementations conform to established company security standards and/or industry best practices. Serves as project manager for small to medium projects sponsored by the Information Security department. Participates in the budget process by specifying Information Security technical, resource and personnel requirements for capital projects. Conducts laboratory and pilot evaluations of technologies. Provides information security consulting services to business units and other departments. Performs security assessments of proposed, new and existing systems Maintains support relationships with various vendors and manufactures Develops and maintains minimum security baseline configuration for various appliances, and server operating systems Processes service request tickets assigned to the team. Responsible for problem resolution Develops documentation including operations manuals, runbooks, and problem resolutions Qualifications Bachelor's degree and requested work experience. Industry Certification complete in several disciplines a plus Minimum 6
years in an infrastructure systems environment, preferably in large diverse server environments with high availability requirements. At least 4
years' experience in ESX VMware administration Expert support, maintenance, and troubleshooting knowledge of Windows Server Understanding of various virtualization technologies - vSphere, KVM and Xen; cloud management technologies and tools as well as various cloud delivery models; Redshift, Openstack. Experience creating, migration and deploying on-prem infrastructures to cloud a plus Windows Active Directory in-depth knowledge a plus Scripting ability a must; preferably PowerShell Determines the requirement for updates, support packs, and system configuration changes. Detailed experience in design of VMware-based redundant and high-availability solutions Experience in tuning and optimization of VMware-based implementations Knowledge of vMotion and Physical to Virtual (P2V) tools Experience with EMC storage a plus Hands-on experience supporting server infrastructure in a large enterprise environment Experience with LinuxUNIX Operating Systems a plus Automation AnsibleTower, yaml scripting a plus Cisco UCS, Dell PowerEdge
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
