Job Description:
As a Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining server infrastructure to ensure the stability, performance, and security of our systems.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support the development and deployment of our applications.
Key
Responsibilities:
Server Infrastructure Management:
o Design, deploy, and manage server infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers.
o Monitor server performance and capacity, proactively addressing issues to maintain optimal performance.
o Perform routine server maintenance tasks such as updates, patching, and backups.
Server Optimization:
o Optimize server configurations to improve performance and resource utilization.
o Identify and resolve bottlenecks and other performance issues.
Troubleshooting and Support:
o Investigate and resolve server-related incidents and problems.
o Provide technical support and collaborate with other teams to resolve application-level issues.
Automation and Scripting:
o Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline server provisioning and maintenance tasks.
o Implement infrastructure as code (IAC) principles to manage server configurations.
Documentation:
o Maintain detailed documentation of server configurations, procedures, and best practices.
o Create and update disaster recovery plans and backup procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience as a Hardware or Server Engineer or similar role.
Strong knowledge of server operating systems (e.
g.
, RHEL or CentOS).
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.
g.
, VMware, Hyper-V).
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.
g.
, Python, PowerShell) for automation.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications (e.
g.
, CompTIA Server+, MCSE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator) are a plus.
