Client is looking for a Senior Director of Audit for Mortgage, Home Equity, and Auto Finance Operations.

In this role you will perform and manage advanced level professional internal audit work This will include managing and conducting integrated operational, financial and compliance audit projects; providing major input to the development of the annual audit plan. You will supervise the internal audit staff and provide training, and coaching.

Responsibilities:

- Manage internal audit staff responsible for auditing mortgage, home equity and auto finance operations as well as other diverse lines of business and specialty areas. Provide major input to audit engagement planning and fieldwork, as well as identification, development and documentation of audit issues, including recommendations for their improvement.

Manage the execution of integrated audits, including, but not limited to identifying and evaluating risks, controls and issues. Review and analyze evidence, and document auditee processes and procedures
- Assist the Vice President/Managing Vice President in the planning, organizing, directing and monitoring of internal audit operations and have staff management responsibilities including hiring, training, and evaluating staff, and taking corrective action.

- Cultivate and maintain business relationships with senior executive auditees, as well as leadership in other control functions within Client.

- May manage up to 8 people


Qualifications

Basic
Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems or Business Administration or military experience.
- Professional certification in an audit related field such as a CIA, CPA, CRCM or CISA.
- 10 years experience in internal audit (can be combined with Big Four external Audit experience), with specific experience in mortgage and home equity operations
- 8 years experience in specialized knowledge of the mortgage business and business risks to include origination, servicing, default management, secondary marketing, credit risk & policy, operations, and capital markets activity.
- 8 years experience in (or servicing) a large financial services institution. -
- 8 years experience in Supervisory or project management role; experience managing audit engagements.


Preferred
Qualifications:

- Masters Degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems or Business Administration.
- 15 years of experience in Internal or external auditing, accounting, financial analysis, information systems, compliance or other related field.
- 7 years of experience in Operations experience in Banking and/or Financial Services. Understanding of transactional accounting and proper application of generally accepted accounting principles. Understanding of advanced accounting concepts and application

- 3 years experience in consumer automobile lending business including direct and indirect origination business models, as well as servicing, collections, and recovery operations
- Strong, effective communicator (verbally and in writing) with executive management, and external parties.
-Demonstrated success establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with all levels of associates, management and external parties.
- Demonstrated success managing and directing audit associates to deliver a value added assurance function.
- Senior leadership experience in driving change in one's own function.
- Ability to drive budget and performance improvements.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
