Summary:
Manufacturing Engineer will develop, maintain and improve high volume manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical assembly and test of radar technology based weapon system. The manufacturing engineer will participate with the development team to realize a manufacturable product design. Will also apply engineering principles and troubleshooting skills to provide day-to-day technical support to production line.
Major Responsibilities/Activities Statements:
Develop and maintain lean manufacturing processes to support high volume production by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly methods, tooling, material handling and materials.
Analyze and plan assembly process flows, production staffing, equipment, space requirements and layout for manufacturing efficiency.
Apply lean manufacturing principles and techniques, such as 5S, standard work, Kaizan events, etc. to drive continuous improvement in quality, cost and delivery performance.
Identify, select, implement and maintain manufacturing equipment to support required production volumes. Specify and design special assembly tooling, fixtures and shop aids required to support required production volumes.
Develop and maintain manufacturing planning documentation, including production routers, work instructions, shop process procedures, etc.
Assure product and process quality by designing, proofing and validating manufacturing methods, including assembly, process, inspection and test; establish standard work procedures, process capability and process control techniques, including statistical process control (SPC)
Establish and maintain production cost model for assembly, inspection and test unit labor hour targets, yields, rework/scrap factors, etc. Drive continuous improvement as needed to achieve allocated Average Unit Production Cost (AUPC) goals.
Apply Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/A) principles and analysis techniques to product designs; participate on product development IPTs to ensure producibility; provide design engineers manufacturing/process capability information during product development.
Plan and execute program's Manufacturing Development effort at L-3 Mustang; support Manufacturing Readiness Assessment (MRA); develop Transition to Production roadmap and support attainment of required Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) by each program milestone. Support MRA/MRL activities at suppliers as needed.
Support program's supplier management effort as required including activities such as supplier manufacturing capability assessment; production problem resolution; cost reduction and quality improvement efforts.
Interface with program's design engineering, test engineering, quality, procurement and management staff as required to drive attainment of program's production objectives (cost, throughput, yields, etc).
Troubleshoot and resolve production performance issues to resolution
Train production and technician staff as required

Job Requirements:
Required Skills:
Industrial Engineering practices
Ability to read and understand electro/mechanical drawings
Working knowledge of Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) and Electro-Mechanical assembly processes
Ability to define and write detailed process and work instructions
Working knowledge of ISO9000/AS9100 quality systems and IPC quality standards (class 3)
Ability to design assembly/test tooling and fixtures
Application of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
Application of statistical process characterization, improvement and control techniques.
Production labor hour estimating
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software applications and plant layout software, such as Visio or AutoCAD.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent people skills and demonstrated ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
Project management

Experience:
5 to 10 years applicable manufacturing engineering experience with actual build expertise
Experience working in high volume, repetitive manufacturing environment
Experience working in an engineering development atmosphere
Experience supporting product development and transition to production
Experience working in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment
Other Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship
Ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance, existing clearance preferred.
Ability to obtain a higher level clearance within six months
Desired:
Existing DoD clearance preferred
Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Working knowledge of precision metal fabrication, welding, and finishing processes
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
Ability to travel up to 10%

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
