Procurement Manager

The mission of this role is to support the development and ownership of strategic sourcing, value optimization and supplier relationship programs for the Dr Pepper Snapple Group. The goal of the job is to optimize value in the supplier/business relationship. This person's key function is to identify and understand the business's requirements and lead a strategic sourcing process of selecting the vendors that can best meet all technical, quality, regulatory and supply chain requirements to deliver the greatest return on investment.
This person will develop strategic sourcing plans (including risk mitigation plans) and execute against a $200MM annual spend across the following categories: PET Bottles, Plastic Cups, and Aseptic, for 20 plants in USA and Canada. In addition, they will provide support to Engineering with purchases related to capital projects (where spend exceeds $500K) for large equipment, and contractor services across the Dr Pepper Snapple locations.
This role sits in our Plano, TX headquarters, reports to the Director of Procurement.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing Management
Develop Sourcing Strategy (Category Business Plan) in conjunction with key business partners to address and meet business needs.
Conduct industry deep dive analysis to provide proactive insight to sourcing strategy 3 year out
Define best sourcing procurement process e.g. Traditional RFQ/RFP/RFI, on line Auction, Collaborative sourcing, multi-even negotiations, etc.
Negotiate and develop up long-term relationships with strategic suppliers
Legal Contracting & contract administration
Acquire and be able to communicate market knowledge for the industries in which the vendors participate.

Be accountable for compliance on Corporate Environmental Sustainability and Regulatory efforts representing sourcing area:

Project Management/Value Optimization (change management)
Be accountable for achieving financial and value optimization targets established by Director.
Identify creative value optimization ideas which may drive cost savings initiative.
Create and update project progress plans to reflect necessary activities, savings, cost and timing.
Work as a close liaison with cross functional support groups to determine best feasible packaging replacement, alternate options and sources which are FDA approved.
Lead Value Optimization project team throughout all phases of the Value Optimization Project process (initiate, plan, execute and control).
Ensures projects are upheld to business standards prior to implementation. Areas addressed include, but not limited to, quality, technical, regulatory and legal compliance, finance reporting, marketing, sales and consumer acceptance, manufacturing and supply chain deployment.
Consistently challenges project team on ways to overcome hurdles, meet objectives and deliverables.
Monitor all sourcing projects and reports on savings to date, associated timing and costs.
Lead regular meetings with cross functional project team for adherence to savings deliverables and timing.
New/Change Product support
Ensure Procurement meets SLA for tasks associated with new/change product projects including, but not limited to, pricing, supply and capacity concerns, new supplier set up, supplier audits and new material set ups.
Supports SIR (new product) process.
Category Management
Manage supply and overall supplier relationships for multiple categories as defined by Director
Develop 3 year category plans for strategic categories
Monthly (Price Purchases Variance) root cause analysis and presentation to leadership
Develop and update financial PPV forecast models
Prepare the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the categories under his/her responsibility
Analytics and communication
Be an expert with analytical tools (e.g. Excel) in order to draw conclusions and make recommendations from large data sets.
Be extremely proficient at oral / written communication in order to effectively explain complex ideas and approaches to a wide audience (MS
Word, MS Project and MS PowerPoint).
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or related area
5 years of Packaging or related direct material sourcing experience

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
