Buescher Bb/A Cornet. A wonderful cornet in great shape for its years! The note that I received from the owner stated that the cornet was played every Saturday night by her grandfather. The cornet plays well and the person that designed the cornet, Frederick Buescher, was an gifted engineer. He was able to improve the tuning of the instrument but routing the lead pipe to the second valve cylinder rather than the third valve cylinder. The cornet has an even, smooth sound from low to high range and is great fun to play! This cornet comes with a Bb and A tuning slide which allows it to play band and orchestra musical keys with easy orchestral transpositions to the key of D, E, or B using the A tuning slide. It also comes with two short shank mouthpieces and the original hardshell case. There are some signs of wear on the silver plating but the cornet is fully functional, the valves move extremely smooth and all of the slides move freely except the second valve slide!
